Starting a new job usually means laptop setups, office tours, and training sessions. My first week as Casi's new Country Manager for Germany couldn’t have been more different. Instead, I found myself in Skjolden, Norway, surrounded by fjords and mountains, meeting the entire Casi Crew for the very first time.

It was all part of the Casi Adventure Club — a yearly tradition where the team steps outside, challenges ourselves, and gains perspective together.

Joining the Adventure Club

Walking into this setting as the new person was inspiring. Meeting everyone away from the office, in such a unique place, immediately showed me how passionate, dedicated, and collaborative the Casi Crew is. It didn’t feel like an introduction — it felt like joining a group of people already on a shared journey.

The trip began with a workshop. We used mountains as a metaphor to reflect on the basecamps Casi has built, the peaks already climbed, and the next summit ahead — one that will turn the automotive industry upside down and deliver incredible value to OEMs.

The metaphor made strategy feel tangible. I walked away with a clear picture of where Casi is today, where we’re headed, and the unique opportunity we have to empower profitable subscription and modern leasing services in Europe.

The Climb

The next day, we traded sticky notes for hiking boots. The team set out to climb Store Soleibotntinden in Jotunheimen National Park, a mountain that rises from 1240 to 2083 meters above sea level.

In Norwegian, there's a saying, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing."

The terrain was rocky and steep, with rain and wind pushing against us. At the very start, I felt nervous. Thirty minutes in, I was already exhausted and doubting if I could do it. Honestly, I thought about giving up.

But I wasn’t alone. Hans Kristian (Casi's CEO and Co-Founder) and Børge (Casi's Head of Partnerships) stayed with me every step, breaking the climb into small goals and cheering me on, while the rest of the team encouraged me from above. That support turned doubt into determination — and finally into pride when I stood near the summit, realizing how far I had come.

What I Learned

That climb was more than just a hike. For me, it symbolized Casi’s culture. Leaders here don’t just set the pace — they walk alongside you, no matter how challenging the path.

I learned that I can push beyond my limits when I take things step by step. And I learned that the Casi team is resilient, creative, and deeply supportive. We climb mountains, literal and metaphorical, together.

Looking Ahead

As my first week at Casi came to an end, I felt more motivated than ever. The Adventure Club gave me clarity about our vision and confidence in the people I get to work alongside.

Casi’s culture is about climbing ambitious mountains together — with stamina, skill, and care for one another. And I couldn’t imagine a better way to start my journey here. Here’s to the climbs ahead — I’m ready for them.
